"I think you're right when you say they're a lot like our team," Purdue coach Danny Hope said this week.
"They're a very good football team, and they have a winning record. They strike fast on offense, and they're really quick on defense, and they have a lot of talented players.
"But they've had some mishaps in the games that's cost them some games. They've had some turnovers and some unfortunate events that's a difference-maker in big-time ballgames."

A year ago, Zack Novak was one of the new guys -- a freshman awed by the college experience with no idea what playing in a major college game was like.
He adapted quickly at the off-guard position but was forced to change to a small post player -- at 6-feet-5 -- in the second half of the year as Michigan played smaller.
This year could be more of the same on the court, plus he has a new challenge off the court.

There's no escaping a date at the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl for Michigan or Michigan State if both finish 6-6.
It has been George Perles' dream since giving birth to the former Motor City Bowl 12 years ago that he eventually could attract one of the state's two Big Ten representatives.
Such a scenario has been considered a nightmare in East Lansing.
