The net loss for the third quarter of 2009 was $7.2 million compared to a net loss of $23.9 million in the same period for 2008. 
The 2008 results include a $44.0 million Goodwill Impairment charge and a gain on divestitures of $21.7 million.

Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies at the Ross School of Business, today announced a record-setting $2 million return on its strategic venture capital investments in HandyLab. 
An Ann Arbor-based developer and manufacturer of molecular diagnostic products, HandyLab entered into an agreement earlier this fall to be acquired by BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) (NYSE: BDX).

Spokesman Rick Rainey said public opposition, combined with the Oct. 26 acquisition of TEPPCO by Enterprise Products, persuaded the company to cancel its plans.

While nothing strange happened on the scary date, the Wolverines did defeat the visiting Suncoast Chargers 34-20. 


Junior Ryan McGovern, Wellington resident and a Wellington Landings graduate, started at quarterback for the Chargers.

World Against Toys Causing Harm (or WATCH) has researched potential safety flaws and dangers in toys for more than 30 years. 
This year's list includes a book, a stuffed animal and, perhaps not surprisingly, a faux rocket launcher.
